2024/08/12: Reflection (#1)

Dr. Sara Hutchett - 11.08
Do you ever stare at a white ceiling so long you start to see your eyes looking back at you? Sometimes I wonder if it's more than just mirrors that are reflective. This is under the assumption that the definition of 'mirror' is quite broad, of course. Is it possible that the very reality we inhabit is reflective? If we were able to percieve a fourth spatial dimension, would we even be able to comprehend what it represented? We're always told that some animals perceive more than we do, but can we quantify what that means? How do shrimp 'see more colours'? Obviously with the extra colour cones they have but what does it look like? Can they see reflections that we cannot see? The phenomenon of reflection depends on the surface properties as well as the wavelength and of incoming radiation. As humans, we are limited to the very narrow bandwidth of visible light. If I were to 'borrow' the ability to see the unseen, what would it do to my mind?
